The daughter of a millionaire is kidnapped by two ex-cons but the more we learn about the individuals the more their plan falls apart as plot twists, characters emotions, and their intentions are revealed.
If all of this seems familiar to you then you may have seen 2009’s The Disappearance Of Alice Creed, which Reckless is a remake of.
Reckless is a very good looking film that is well directed and has very strong performances all around from the cast. The only catch is that as a remake of a relatively new film it doesn’t have it’s own identity; it is nearly a shot for shot remake with almost identical production design and wardrobe.
The only discernible differences between the two stories is that Reckless has a blonde lead actress and that the remake gives us slightly more information at the end for a less ambiguous ending than The Disappearance Of Alice Creed had. Honestly I can’t say anything bad about any of the technical aspects of Reckless as it was a solid film with great performances and looked great, it just has no reason for being.
In the end if you enjoyed The Disappearance Of Alice Creed then I think you would enjoy Reckless.
