Now that the furor of The Force Awakens has quieted down a little bit, it’s the perfect time to get nostalgic, and there’s no better place to start than with a new book from Abrams ComicArts, Topps, and Lucasfilm, Star Wars Galaxy: The Original Topps Trading Card Series which features the original editor of the Topps cards
Gary Gerani, with an afterword by iconic poster artist Drew Struzan.

Illustrated by some of the biggest names in sci-fi, fantasy, and comics, the Star Wars Galaxy trading card series was released between 1993 and 1995.  Now, the entire collection is available in one collectible volume.
Featuring works from over 170 artists including Steve Ditko, Jack Kirby,
Ralph McQuarrie, Moebius, and Boris Vallejo,
Star Wars Galaxy is a must-have for any Star Wars Fan. The book
showcases more than 200 classic cards, including the complete “New
Visions” series, as well as rare promotional material, and four
exclusive bonus trading cards in the back of the book.

After the jump check out some excerpts from the book including pieces by Ditko, Mike Mignola and EC Comics legend, George Evans!

Series 1 Display Box
Art by Ken Steacy, 1993

A fanciful look at fugitive droids under siege by Steve Ditko,
the
reclusive comic book legend famed for Spider-Man and other Marvel
greats.

George Evans captured the hellish flavor of the carbon-freeze sequence from
The Empire Strikes Back
 with acrylics and colored pencil

Hellboy creator Mike Mignola turned his considerable pen-and-ink
skill to this depiction of an imposing Tusken Raider on Tatooine.

Ink and watercolors were used in this atmospheric portrait
of Wicket, an Ewok
on Endor’s forest moon, as rendered by celebrated
fantasy artist William Stout.

Colleen Doran missed out on a chance to render villainous Lumiya
for the
comics, so she relished this opportunity to create a dramatic,
full-figure study.

Star Wars Galaxy: The Original Topps Trading Card Series is available now
