I tried to avoid reading this like the plague.
I just haven’t been able to read the regular Harley Quinn books as they just blend together for me.
This looked very much along those lines.
So I sat down and finally gave it a read. And it was much harder to get through than I thought possible.
The book is about a hurricane coming through Harley’s part of the world. The storm clears and then Harley goes for a walk. And wouldn’t you know it?
She comes across the Gossamer.
They hang out. They hold hands. They go out to eat. And they have warm and fuzzy adventures.
This book wasn’t written for me in mind. Someone may indeed pick this up and find it to be the cutest thing ever. It’s just not for me. It just got sillier and more goofy as time went on.
As luck would have it, Harley and Gossamer come across Batman and the Joker. At this point I was tuned out. Eventually, they find a scientist to send the Gossamer home. Hooray. I couldn’t wait for it to be over as it was so painful to look at.
Again this story and the backup aren’t for me.
They could be for someone else reading. I have no idea what the audience for this is. The back up is basically unreadable except for the art. The art is really excellent there and is quite stunning. The art for the main story is decent too. It’s just hard to read.
For me at least, this was brutal to get through.
