An aging Hitler on Nazi occupied Earth-X dies in his wheelchair and the designated survivor is his son in the flashback pages at the top of Freedom Fighters #3. In present day, our Freedom Fighters are holed up in an underwater ship plotting the revolution against Adolf Hitler III.
This is a decent team book with each Freedom Fighter taking on appropriate roles by collecting intelligence and sending out the appropriate team member to carry out missions.Fans of Hama’s G.I.Joe might like this Special Missions aspect of the book.
Black Condor is able to do some damage to the Luftwaffe almost single handedly with his in-flight combat skills and Cache hacking into the Nazi mainframe.
This is a small victory for sure in the scheme of a Nazi occupied world, but Cache is able to take over Times Square with Stars and Stripes fanfare to drive the Hitler dynasty crazy.
Plastic Man—in this world a bad guy—calls up Overman to crush the dreams of the Freedom Fighters as they plot to free Uncle Sam from captivity.
Another great issue but one that needs context of the Freedom Fighters of Earth-X and the previous two issues! Robert Venditti and Eddy Barrows make me wish for a return of the JSA go mainstream DC Comics but I’ll take what I can get!
Let Freedom Ring!
