This is one hell of a comic book. The story is very intense for sure. And I honestly love the artwork by Rick Leonardi. If you put him on a comic book as the artist, I’m reading it right away. I just love the way he draws and utilizes the medium. This is another feather in his cap.
Batman lays on the floor unable to move at the beginning of the issue. There is some sort of gravitational field on that is holding him in place. Terry is trying to break free but he is having a hell of a time trying to do so. Things look bleak.
Meanwhile, back at the Batcave, Bruce seems like he is unable to help Terry. Matt tries to get Bruce to help him, but Bruce is acting rather strange. More than usual.
Then after thinking it though, Matt thinks of a way to help out! The whole sequence is very harrowing and I enjoyed seeing Terry get out of this jam.
Terry then has to go find Splitt and has to take them down. After a little bit of regrouping, Terry decides to go back out into the field. He eventually finds Splitt and a big battle ensues. Things get rather crazy from this point on!
We then get a scene with Bruce Wayne where he acts extremely out of character. He starts gambling. He calls a woman “sweet cheeks.” It’s very strange. Just what is going on with Bruce?
By the issues end, we are introduced to a character named False Face. There are a lot of balls in the air for sure by this point. They are all interesting though. All Jurgens has to do is land it. I have a feeling that he will.
The whole package is really great. Jurgens works so well with Leonardi, it’s fantastic. This is another fine storyline in a well crafted comic. I can’t wait to see where the creators take us next.
