‘DCeased: Unkillables #1’ (review)

Written by Tom Taylor
Art by Karl Mostert
Published by DC Comics

The book DCeased was one of the best miniseries to come out last year from DC Comics. It told the story of the DC characters being infected by a zombie like plague.

This is a spinoff of that, but it carries with it the same excitement as the original miniseries.

The issue starts off in Kentucky with Deathstroke outside of a house. He is getting himself ready. He heads over to the house and what comes out of it?

A bunch of zombies of course!

Deathstroke has to fight his way out to survive the onslaught of the undead.

Something happens to Slade that has to be seen to be believed.

From there, we catch up with the Red Hood. He sees that Batman, Robin, and Nightwing have been murdered. The Red Hood then steals himself a Batmobile and gets the heck out of there! It is an intense scene.

Slade then catches up with his daughter.

He also gets together with Mirror Master. We also get to see Commissioner Gordon, The Red Hood, and Cassandra Cain team up.

All of this is because they are looking for a safe haven. And they are trying their hardest to find one.

The story is decent and it shows a different aspect of the DCeased Universe than before.

The art is pretty spiffy as well. All in all, this is a nicely done spinoff from the previous series.

RATING: B+
