‘Nightwing #69’ (review)

Written by Dan Jurgens
Art by Ronan Cliquet
Published by DC Comics

Dan Jurgens and Ronan Cliquet are doing a completely excellent job on this title.

Recently, the Court of the Owls have made Ric Grayson’s life a living hell.

For readers, this has been a great time and the creative team have kept the action and the drama exciting.

The opening pages for this issue has Nightwing chasing down and fighting with a criminal. It is a nice beginning that has action and it also shows Nightwing’s self doubt. It is wonderfully handled.

It is also a nice setup for the rest of the issue.

I wasn’t a big fan of the costume that Cliquet put him in however. Hopefully it doesn’t hang around long. Nightwing then goes and heads into a castle!

He is taking the fight right to the Court of The Owls. And it is a pretty intense fight!

He then comes face to face with the inner circle of the court!

It is a very cool moment. We then get a moment where we get a bit of history of the court.

Then, there is an explosion and then a surprise guest that appears at the end of the book. It a decent book overall.

Dan Jurgens does a great job writing this and Cliquet is a good artist. They do a great job in this issue again. The story here is a bit short but hey, you can’t have everything. It is another solid issue in a good comic book run.

RATING: B+
