The first issue of this book was very intriguing and offered a great premise. It was a decent first issue overall and it showed a lot of promise. I have to say that this particular issue is just as good as the first and it is very well done.
The beginning of the book shows Cole Turner waking up to the truth in his life. He is with his partner and we get to see a scene of them which is there for character development. It is pretty straightforward. It also makes what comes later much more impactful.
Cole meets someone mysterious.
He goes on his investigation. It seems like he may have had false memories implanted in.
So what’s real?
Cole may have been in a preschool that was involved with Satanic rituals. This discovery is sending him to some dark places.
The series does get dark. It does get weird.
We learn a bit more about who the Department of Truth is. We also get to see what it means for Cole to join them. It is pretty cool overall.
I really like this book! I think the story is great.
I hope we have an artist change sometime soon though. Martin Simmonds is an acquired taste and his art is a bit much. I have to be in the right mood to read this because of it.
