‘Hellblazer: Rise and Fall #2’ (review)

Written by Tom Taylor
Art by Darick Robertson
Published by DC Comics

This is a really good little Hellblazer story.

I do enjoy writer Tom Taylor and artist Darick Robertson’s take on the character. They have constructed a really nice story that has a lot of twists and turns. I am looking forward to seeing where we end up with this.

This issue starts off with John Constantine waking up in a strange place. He looks over and sees that he is next to a demon. It appears that he has had sex with the demon. How did he get to this place?

Well, that is what we are going to find out pretty immediately.

The book flashes back to the night before.

We get to see the demon and Constantine having a conversation. The two of them have run afoul of Satan himself. So there is only one thing that the two of them can do.

That’s right, they have themselves a team up!

We get to see the two of them try to survive Satan’s attacks.

We also get to see them try to fight against Satan and go on the offensive. Things get crazy and it all leads to one hell of a cliffhanger which was great! I have no idea how this one will end up for these two.“““““

Tom Taylor proves himself a capable writer of Constantine and his world. He works great with artist Darick Robertson. Robertson is brilliant as usual and this is a good issue. I can’t wait to see how the story ends.

RATING: A
